Deleting System Components

ViewRunner allows you to add and delete various system components. This chapter discusses deleting modules and chassis in ViewRunner.

Note References to modules or to CAP ATU-C modules include all modules supported by the Cisco 6100 Series system for ViewRunner for Windows Release 2.4.0 (CAP ATU-C, STU-C, DMT-2 ATU-C).

10.1 Deleting a Module

To delete a module, follow this procedure:

Step 1 Move your cursor over the slot of the module you want to delete and right-click. The menu shown in Figure 10-1 appears.

Step 2 Select Delete Module. ViewRunner deletes the module from that chassis.

10.1.1 Deleting CAP ATU-C and Line Interface Modules

For CAP ATU-C and line interface modules (LIMs), you must lock the module before you delete it.

To lock a module, follow this procedure:

Step 1 At the Cisco 6100 Chassis View, move your cursor to the CAP ATU-C or LIM slot and right-click.

Step 2 Select Port Properties > Configuration.

Step 3 When the dialog box displays, select Locked under the Administrative State field.

Step 2 Select Delete Chassis and the chassis is deleted.

Note For SC software Version 2.1.0 or later, the LIM controller module must be locked for you to delete the line concentration chassis (LCC). The Delete Chassis option is disabled if the LIM controller module is not locked. The multiplexer chassis (MC) cannot be deleted because you cannot delete the primary SC module. For SC software Version 1.0.2, the LIM controller module does not support an Administrative state, so all LIMs in the LCC must be explicitly locked for the Delete Chassis option to be enabled.
