System Requirements

This chapter introduces the ViewRunner software for Windows system requirements. System attributes required to run ViewRunner for Windows are described in the sections that follow.

Caution See "Installing ViewRunner for Windows" for information on supplemental software requirements.

The following are the hardware requirements for ViewRunner for Windows.

1.2 Operating System

The following operating systems are supported by ViewRunner for Windows 2.4.0.

1.2.1 Year 2000 Compliance

ViewRunner for Windows is a Y2K compliant application. However, ViewRunner for Windows relies on third-party operating systems. Use the Y2K compliance information in Table 1-1.

1.2.2 Compliance Categories

Table 1-1 lists Microsoft compliance categories and applicable operating systems.

Windows NT Server Version 4.0 SP3 is "Compliant with minor issues" after the Windows NT Version 4.0 Post Service Pace 3 (SP3) Year 2000 update is installed.

1.3 Important Warning

If Power Management is enabled on your computer, you may want to disable this feature. Under Windows 95:

1.4 Cisco 6100 Series System and ViewRunner Version Compatibilities

ViewRunner for Windows Release 2.4.0 is the craft interface for the Cisco 6100 Series system for Release 2.2.5 (SF-6100-2.2.5). It is bundled with the Cisco 6100 Series multiplexer chassis or may be downloaded from Cisco Connection Online (CCO).

The ViewRunner for Windows Release 2.4.0 release supports the following Cisco 6100 Series system releases:


Note Digital Off-Hook (DOH) features are not fully tested or supported in ViewRunner for Windows Release 2.4.0 hardware (Cisco 6100 or 6130) or software. DOH will be supported in the ViewRunner for Windows Release 3.0.0.
Caution ViewRunner for Windows Release 2.4.0 does not manage a 2.3.x node.

2Systems with a Cisco 6100 MC installed must connect to the network through a Cisco PSC to provide the secondary lightning protection required by NEBS. Therefore, a Cisco 6100 MC cannot support a Direct Connect without PSC configuration.
