User Account Administration

This chapter explains the different security levels that ViewRunner for Windows provides, how to log onto the system initially, and how to define users and set up passwords.

4.1 Security Levels

ViewRunner for Windows provides three levels of security:

All levels of security can use ViewRunner for Windows to do the following:


Note Only administrator and operator IDs can use ViewRunner for Windows to add, delete, or change configuration information about the equipment in the Cisco 6100 system.

4.2 Starting ViewRunner for Windows

You can start ViewRunner for Windows in one of two ways:

    1. Double-click on the ViewRunner icon on your desktop

    2. Choose Start >>Programs >>ViewRunner for Windows 2.3.5

This section describes how you start ViewRunner for Windows.

Step 1 To access the ViewRunner for Windows program, double-click on the ViewRunner icon. The following screen appears:

Field Description

User Name

Prompts you for your user name.

Note This field is not case sensitive.

Password

Prompts you for your password.

Note This field is not case sensitive.

Step 2 Enter User Name and Password. Click OK.

Step 3 The following ViewRunner for Windows splash screen will appear momentarily.

4.3 Defining Users

The first time you use ViewRunner for Windows, a dialog appears informing you that there are no users defined. ViewRunner for Windows then automatically opens the User Administration window with a default set to name admin, password admin, and with Administrator access control.
