This chapter explains how to diagnose and handle line (LIM port) events generated by the Cisco 6100 Series system. The following information is presented for each of the events:
If none of the actions presented for the event are successful, contact the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) for additional support.
Table 15-1 lists line (LIM port) events and their IDs, definition, severity, and description. A detailed explanation of these events and corrective actions required (if any) is located in subsections in this chapter.

Improper version signature on CPE modemThe CPE detection feature is used to discover CPE gear that is not capable of performing Idle or Session timeouts. During training, the CPE detection feature determines if the CPE equipment can be timer enabled. If the equipment can be timer enabled, training will continue. If the equipment cannot be timer enabled, an alarm is generated in ViewRunner and training will not be successful until the Cisco 660, Cisco 665, or Cisco 675 is updated to at least version 2.01. The line port or modem port will not train successfully until the Cisco 660, 665, or 675 is updated to at least version 2.0.1.
Upgrade the CPE to at least version 2.0.1.
