Connector Pinouts

This appendix lists the pinouts of the connectors that connect the port adapters and interface modules to an external network. All pins not specifically listed are not connected.

For processor card cable pinouts, refer to the Processor Installation Guide for your system. The Processor Installation Guide does not apply to the Catalyst 8540 MSR.

This appendix includes the following sections:

Pinouts to RJ-45 Connectors

The 155-Mbps port adapter with unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) ports supports RJ-45 connectors. Table B-1 lists the signals for RJ-45 cable connectors.

Pinouts for the 96-Pin Molex to 4 Unshielded RJ-45 Connectors

The 4-port 25-Mbps port adapter supports a 96-pin Molex to 4 unshielded RJ-45 connector. Table B-3 lists the signals for the 96-pin Molex connector.

Note The 4 unshielded RJ-45 connectors do not utilize all 96 pins on the 96-pin Molex connector. Table B-3 does not list the Molex connector pins that are not used.
