reset ipx

The reset ipx commands delete permanent and runtime IPX parameters.

reset ipx {routing {network_number | all} |
cache {
network_number | all} |
sap {
network_number:node | all}}

Syntax Description

routing {network_number | all}

This command deletes IPX dynamic routing table entries. Direct connect entries cannot be deleted.

  • network_number deletes a specific route. It must be between 1 and FFFFFFFE.

  • all deletes all entries.

cache {network_number | all}

This command deletes entries from the IPX fast-routing cache.

  • network_number deletes a specific route. It must be between 1 and FFFFFFFE.

  • all deletes all entries.

sap {network_number:node | all}

This command deletes an IPX SAP (Service Advertising Protocol) server entry from the dynamic table kept by the router. The router's SAP entry cannot be deleted because this entry is needed to manage the router using IPX as a transport.

  • network_number deletes a specific route. It must be between 1 and FFFFFFFE.

  • node specifies the server node address of the entry to delete. This number is specified as an Ethernet address. An Ethernet address is specified as six hexadecimal octets separated by dots (.) or colons (:). An example would be 0.0.A5.0.0.1 or 0:0:A5:0:0:1.

  • all deletes all entries.
