The ospfenable and ospfdisable commands allow the user to temporarily disable or enable the OSPF protocol without restarting the router.
The ospfdisable command will cause the router to notify its neighbors that it is "going down." The ospfenable command will allow the router to re-establish the adjacencies with each neighbor from scratch, just as if the router was first coming up. The ospfenable command should be used only after ospfdisable has been used.
