The VPN 5000 concentrator operates reliably in a normal computer room, and requires no special environmental control. However, if a module's Over Temp LED turns on, the internal circuitry is operating above its specified temperature range. Turn off the system to let it cool down, and check for the following conditions:
1. Verify that the concentrator is installed properly in an environment in which the air temperature around the concentrator is within the specified limits. See Table 2-6 for environmental specifications.
2. Verify that air flow to the front of the platform is unrestricted.
3. Check that the air filter inside the chassis is not clogged. If it is clogged, replace it according to instructions in the Cisco VPN 5008 Concentrator Hardware Guide or the Cisco VPN 5002 Concentrator Hardware Guide.
If the Over Temp LED is still lit, contact technical support.
