ESD Prevention

Always attach an ESD preventative wrist strap to your wrist and to the ESD connection socket on the chassis before performing maintenance on the Cisco 10000.

Air Filter Replacement

    1. Loosen the captive screws on the air filter tray and pull the tray out enough to remove the filter.

    2. Insert the new air filter into the tray so the air flow direction arrows (on its metal frame) are pointing up, and slide the filter tray into the chassis.

    3. Tighten the captive screws to secure the filter tray to the chassis.

Removing a Line Card

    1. Loosen the top and bottom captive screws on the line card.

    2. Simultaneously pivot both ejector levers away from each other to disengage the line card from the backplane and slide the card out of its slot.

PCMCIA Flash Disk Cards

The Cisco 10000 Performance Routing Engine accepts up to two of the following types of PCMCIA Flash disk cards:

    1. Loosen the captive screw on the PRE Flash card cover and lift it to insert the Flash disk card.
