To configure call discrimination, you need a list of DNIS groups and the types of calls that are not allowed to access the DNIS groups. During planning, you entered this information in the call discrimination worksheet. For more information, see Appendix B in the CiscoSecure Resource Pool Manager Server Solutions Guide.
To configure call discrimination, follow these steps:
Step 1 Locate the call discrimination worksheet that you completed during planning.
Step 2 Make sure each DNIS group was created.
To check this, select Configuration:DNIS and make sure each DNIS group appears in the list.
If any of the DNIS groups were not created, see the "Creating DNIS Groups" section.
Step 3 Select Configuration:Call Info:Discrimination.
The Call Discrimination Table page appears.
Step 4 Enter a name for the call discrimination table entry.
Step 5 Select a DNIS group.
Step 6 Select a type of call that will be prevented from accessing this DNIS group from the Call Types list box.
Step 7 Click Add to Table.
The call discrimination entry is added to the table.
Step 8 Repeat Steps 6 and 7 for each DNIS group/call type combination that will be blocked.
Step 9 Repeat this procedure for each DNIS group.
DNIS Groups contain a list of DNIS numbers (telephone numbers used to access the NASes) that belong to a customer or service type. To create a DNIS group, do the following:
DNIS groups are convenient for organizing DNIS numbers for a customer or service type. Because multiple DNIS groups can be added to a customer profile, all DNIS numbers can be added to a single DNIS group or they can be subdivided by call type, geographical area, division, and so on.
To create a DNIS group, follow these steps:
Step 1 Locate the call resource management worksheet that you completed during planning.
Step 2 Select Configuration:DNIS and click Add DNIS Group.
The Add a New DNIS Group page appears.
Step 3 Enter a name for the DNIS group. To easily identify DNIS groups, include the customer name or service type description within the group name.
Step 4 Enter a description for the DNIS group. The Description field is for informational purposes and has no effect on the operation of Cisco RPMS.
Step 5 Select the CAS override call type. This can include speech (modems), digital, V.110, V.120, or other call types supported by the NAS. For information on adding new call types, see the "Adding Call Types" section.
Step 6 Click Add.
The DNIS Group is added. To add DNIS numbers to the group, see the "Adding DNIS Numbers to the DNIS Group" section.
To add DNIS numbers to a DNIS group, follow these steps:
Step 1 Select Configuration:DNIS and click the DNIS group's DNIS Numbers button.
Step 2 Enter a DNIS number as it appears from the end office switch in the DNIS Number field. DNIS numbers sent from an end office switch are usually a single block of numbers that includes the area code and no delimiters (for example, spaces, hyphens, periods, and commas).
Step 3 Enter the 800 number used to access this DNIS number in the Reference # field. This field is optional and does not affect the operation of the Cisco RPMS. However, if an 800 number is used to access this DNIS number, this field is very useful for isolating problems.
Step 4 Click Add to DNIS Group.
Step 5 Repeats Steps 2 through 4 for each DNIS number to include in this DNIS group.
To support additional standards and standards that might be developed in the future, the Cisco RPMS can be configured to support additional call types.
To add a call type, follow these steps:
Step 1 Select Configuration:Call Info:Call Types and click Add Call Type.
The Add a New Call Type page appears.
Step 2 Enter the name of the call type exactly as it appears from the NAS.
Step 3 Enter a description of the call type. The Description field is for informational purposes and has no effect on the operation of Cisco RPMS.
Step 4 Click Add.
Step 5 Repeat Steps 2 through 4 for each call type that you want to add.
