Dial Services Worksheets

Dial Services Worksheets

This appendix contains worksheets to configure dial services for customers or service types. Cisco RPMS allows you to manage the following types of dial services from your Cisco network access servers (NASes):

The Cisco RPMS dial service process (after the call passes through call discrimination and is assigned a resource) is as follows:

1. NAS sends domain name or DNIS-based VPDN request to Cisco RPMS.

2. NAS attempts to build VPDN tunnel with Cisco RPMs settings or from the local AAA server.

3. NAS attempts to authenticate the call with the local AAA server.

VPDN Dial Services

VPDN groups contain information to negotiate VPDN sessions with home gateways. To configure VPDN dial services for a customer or service type, complete the worksheets and do the following:

Note DNIS numbers specified in the VPDN group must also be specified in the DNIS group used by the customer profile to which the VPDN group is assigned.

Related Cisco RPMS Commands

To create VPDN groups for DNIS or domain name-based wholesale dial services, select Configuration > VPDN.

Related Cisco IOS Commands

To enable VPDN on the NASes, use the vpdn enable command.

Retail Dial Service

If the NAS cannot find VPDN information from the Cisco RPMS, locally, or from a AAA server, the NAS assumes the call is a retail dial customer. If you are set up for retail dial service, the call is authenticated with the local AAA server. If you are not set up for retail dial service, the call is rejected.
