Installation Requirements
Cisco Resource Pool Manager Server (Cisco RPMS) enables telephone companies and Internet service providers (ISPs) to count, control, bill, and manage resources for wholesale and retail dial network services across one or more network access servers (NASes).
This chapter describes the minimum hardware and software requirements that must be met before installing Cisco RPMS.
The minimum installation requirements are:
- 80 MB of free disk space in the destination installation directory
- 40 MB of free disk space in /var/tmp for temporary storage of the extracted files
The minimum requirements for Cisco RPMS when Oracle is running on the same system are:
- Sun Ultra 60 with 300 MHz processor (dual processor preferred)
- Solaris v2.6 with patches 105284-16, 105181-11, 105210-19, and 105568-13. Patch 105490-05 or 107733-06 (or higher) is also recommended.
- Oracle 7.3.4 or Oracle 8.0.4 and later
- 384 MB of RAM
- 512 MB of swap space
- 800 MB of free disk space
The minimum requirements for Cisco RPMS with Oracle on another system are:
- Sun Ultra 60 with 300 MHz processor
- Solaris 2.6 with patch 105490-05 (required) and patch 105284-16 (recommended)
- 256 MB of RAM
- 256 MB of swap space
- 200 MB of free disk space
The minimum requirements for Oracle are:
- Oracle 7.3.4 or Oracle 8.0.4 and later
- SQL*Net or Net8 with TCP/IP protocol adapter
- Oracle server can be local or remote
- Oracle database user account for Cisco RPMS. This account should have database table and index creation privileges
In order to be managed by Cisco RPMS, the Cisco AS5200, AS5300, and AS5800 require:
- Cisco IOS Release 12.05 T or later
- Portware/boardware--- New version with ringback tone support for CAS/RMS. No dependency for Primary Rate Interface (PRI) or standalone NAS CAS
- Microcom firmware---No dependency for Phase 1. Will not support ringback tone for CAS/RMS
To configure Cisco RPMS, use one of the following browsers:
- Netscape 4.04, 4.05, or 4.06 (Windows 95/98/NT or Solaris version)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later (Windows 95/98/NT version)
