About This Guide

This document describes how to install, configure, and use the Cisco 6510 Service Selection Gateway.

This guide was written for system administrators who use the Cisco 6510 to manage users with fixed connections, such as Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) equipment and cable modems, gain access to the Internet and to corporate intranet gateways.

Appendix C Installing the Dashboard Application Describes installation and configuration of the Dashboard application.
Appendix D Cisco 6510 Vendor-Specific RADIUS Attributes Lists the vendor-specific Remote Access Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) attributes used by the Cisco 6510.
Appendix E RADIUS Records Describes events that generate RADIUS accounting records.

Convention Description
boldface font Commands and keywords.
italic font Variables for which you supply values.
[      ] Keywords or arguments that appear within square brackets.
{x | y | z} A choice of required keywords appears in braces separated by vertical lines.
screen font Examples of information displayed on the screen.
boldface screen font Examples of information you must enter.
<    > Nonprinting characters, for example password, appear in angle brackets.
[    ] Default responses to system prompts appear in square brackets.
Note Means reader take note. Notes contain helpful suggestions or references to information and material.
