This chapter contains an alphabetical list of commands and syntax used on the Cisco Optical Networking System (ONS) 15303 command-line interface (CLI).
cnm burst-size
To specify the maximum traffic burst size, use the cnm burst-size configuration command. Use the default or the no form of this command to return the burst size parameter to the default value of 2048 bytes.

bytes Enter a value between 1024 and 262,144 bytes.
Syntax
Description
To associate a Cisco Transport Manager/CNM client to a server, use the cnm client configuration command. Use the no form of the command to remove an association between a Cisco Transport Manager/CNM client and a Cisco Transport Manager/CNM server.

client-ip-address Enter the Cisco Transport Manager/CNM client IP address that you want to permit access to Cisco Transport Manager/CNM. server-ip-address Enter the Cisco Transport Manager/CNM server IP address that should process messages from the Cisco Transport Manager/CNM client.

To enable the Cisco Transport Manager/CNM agent, use the cnm enable configuration command. Use the no form of this command to disable the Cisco Transport Manager/CNM agent.

To set the amount of time a client TCP connection can remain idle before closing a connection, use the cnm idle-timeout configuration command. Use the default or the no form of this command to return the TCP idle time parameter to the default value of 30 minutes.
[default | no] cnm idle-timeout seconds
seconds Enter the time (in seconds) before a client TCP session is released. The idle time is set to 30 minutes as a default. Setting the value to 0 disables the idle timeout function and allows a TCP connection to persist indefinitely. This option is useful to prevent lingering sockets from remaining in the system.

To set the maximum message size that the Cisco Transport Manager/CNM agent will accept, use the cnm max-msg-size configuration command. Use the default or the no form of this command to return the maximum message size to the default value of 16384 bytes.

To specify the number of concurrent Cisco Transport Manager/CNM client sessions that each Cisco Transport Manager/CNM client will process, use the cnm max-sess-per-addr configuration command. Use the default or the no form of this command to return the session parameter to the default value of 2 sessions.
[default | no] cnm max-sess-per-addr number
number Enter the number of concurrent Cisco Transport Manager/CNM client sessions that each Cisco Transport Manager/CNM client will process. The Cisco Transport Manager/CNM agent limits the number of concurrent Cisco Transport Manager/CNM client sessions that it will accept from each configured IP client address to two. If you require more than the default of two, this command can be used to increase the number. Having multiple active sessions increases memory consumption.

To specify the average amount of traffic to service from a Cisco Transport Manager/CNM client, use the cnm rate-limit configuration command. Use the default or the no form of this command to return the average traffic rate parameter to the default value of 4 kbps.

To set the connection retry interval for connecting to a Cisco Transport Manager/CNM server, use the cnm retry-conn-time configuration command. Use the default or the no form of this command to return the connection retry interval to the default value of 15 seconds.

seconds Enter a value between 1 and 9900 seconds. The default value is 15 seconds.

ctunnel destination
To specify the Connectionless Network Service (CLNS) address of the remote endpoint of the IP-over-CLNP tunnel, use the ctunnel destination interface configuration command. The IP packet encapsulated in the CLNP packet is sent to the CLNS address specified in this command. You cannot have two CTunnels using the same destination address. Use the no form of this command to disable the CLNS address.

To turn on all debugging commands and options, use the debug cnm all EXEC command. Cisco Transport Manager/CNM (Customer Network Management) and system performance will be affected when debugging options are enabled.

To show events related to TCP connection, including the establishment and termination of TCP sessions, use the debug cnm connections EXEC command.

To display abnormal protocol or system errors such as lack of improperly formed messages, lack of memory, or other unexpected conditions, use the debug cnm error EXEC command.

To select the Q.921 link layer operating mode for an interface, use the encapsulation q921 configuration command. To disable the interface, use the no form of this command.
This encapsulation method is normally required on SONET DCC interfaces to interoperate with other SONET network elements. The Q.921 protocol has two modes of operation: user side and network side. One of these two modes can be specified for the encapsulation mode if it is known. If one side of the Q.921 link is in user-side mode, the other side of the link must be in network-side mode. Users have the option of leaving out the user-side or network-side specification, in which case the software will adjust its mode automatically and dynamically.
There is also an option to specify the network layer protocols that are supported on top of this link layer protocol (for example, IP, CLNS, or multi-protocol operation).

To specify a signal pattern to use for bit error rate testing on DS1s and serial DS1s, use the ine bert configuration command.

The interface LDCCA 0 and interface LDCCB configuration commands provide the ability to send and receive management traffic on the SONET data communications channel (DCC) comprised of SONET overhead bytes D4 to D12, forming a 576 kbps data communications channel. In SONET terminology, these overhead bytes are referred to as Line DCC bytes; in SONET terminology, these bytes are referred to as Multiplex Section overhead bytes.
LDCCA serves as the interface for the 576 kbps DCC channel on SAM A, while LDCCB is for SAM B. These SONET DCC interfaces are treated like other interfaces in the system software. Each channel can be configured separately, but typically both are enabled together.
The interface instance number should be set to 0 for interface LDCCA and interface LDCCB, because the Cisco ONS 15303 supports only one pair of optical interfaces.

Interfaces SDCCA and SDCCB provide the ability to send and receive management traffic on the SONET data communications channel (DCC) comprised of SONET overhead bytes D1, D2, and D3. In SONET terminology, these overhead bytes are referred to as Section DCC bytes; in SONET terminology, these bytes are referred to as Regenerator Section overhead bytes.
SDCCA serves as the interface for the DCC channel on SAM A, while SDCCB is for SAM B. The SONET DCC interfaces are treated like other interfaces in the system software. Each channel can be configured separately, but typically both are enabled together. The interface instance number should be set to 0 for both interface SDCCA and interface SDCCB, as the Cisco ONS 15303 supports only one pair of optical interfaces.
Typically, the interfaces are configured to operate with CLNS or IP protocols. In most applications, CLNS protocols and Q.921 must be enabled to interoperate with other SONET network elements. Refer to the Cisco Optical Networking System 15303 Software Configuration Guide for information on how to configure the SONET DCC subsystem and the Cisco Optical Networking System 15304 Software Configuration Guide to configure the SDH DCC subsystem.
The following example shows a typical configuration. In general, the Q.921 protocol is configured at the link layer, followed by activation of the CLNS at the network layer:

Description
To specify additional time to the current wait time for retransmitting a TFTP request, use the ip tftp backoff-delay configuration command. The amount of wait time starts at the time given by the ip tftp min-timeout command and increments to a value no larger than the value given by the ip tftp max-timeout command. The default is 1 second.

To specify the maximum amount of time to wait before retransmitting a TFTP request, use the ip tftp max-timeout configuration command. The default is 8 seconds.

To specify the minimum amount of time to wait before retransmitting a TFTP request, use the ip tftp min-timeout configuration command. After every successful data segment transfer, the wait time returns to the minimum timeout as a starting point. The default is 4 seconds.

To specify the maximum number of retransmission requests, use the ip tftp write-retries configuration command. In networks that experience high packet loss, it might be necessary to increase the number of retransmissions to ensure successful completion of a TFTP file transfer operation. The default is 5 seconds.

To provide an identification number that defines the association between serial DS1 and multilink interfaces, use the multilink-group configuration command. All serial DS1 interfaces with the same multilink-group identification number belong to the same multilink bundle. This command is valid only for multilink and serial DS1 interfaces (for example, interface multilink and interface serialds1).

To enable or disable multilink fragmentation, use the multilink max-fragments command. Providing the value 0 disables fragmentation on an MLPPP interface. Providing a non-zero value configures a multilink interface to allow fragmentation of a PPP packet into a number of fragments (up to the maximum number given). The actual number of fragments that a packet will be split into is determined by the size of the packet and the number of links that are currently active in a multilink interface.
This command is valid only within the interface multilink configuration mode.

num-fragments Enter the number of fragments. A value of 1 disables MLPPP fragmentation.

Use the q921 set of commands to specify the operating parameters for link layer used in SONET DCC channels. When configuring the SONET Section DCC channel to interoperate with other SONET network elements, Q.921 and OSI protocols are used. These commands are valid only if encapsulation q921 is selected for the interface.

n200 value | Enter a value between 2 and 16 to set the count for retransmitting frames. The default is 3. |
n201 value | Enter a value between 512 and 65535 octets to set the maximum number of octets per frame. The default is 512 octets. |
t200 value | Enter a value between 200 and 20000 ms to set the retransmission timer. The default is 0.2 second. |
t203 value | Enter a value between 4000 and 120000 ms to set the interface outage timer. The default is 0 (disabled). |
To enable automatic synchronization between the online SAM and the standby/offline SAM, use the redundancy auto-sync configuration command. Use the no form of this command to disable automatic synchronization.

To retrieve the crash-stack from the remote SAM (if one is available), use the redundancy crash-stack EXEC command.
