CiscoWorks2000 is a family of products that provide customers with a comprehensive set of enterprise network management tools to better monitor, troubleshoot and optimize the enterprise network. The CiscoWorks2000 solutions focus on two key administrative areas: wide area and local area network management.
These solutions are built on a common CiscoWorks2000 server. This framework allows for common user interfaces, secured application access, and web services needed by applications that install on top of it. This Web-based Management-Intranet model allows for simple integration of third party and custom management tools, as well as, the ability to access these management tools from anywhere within the network.
Cisco offers two major solutions; the first, the CiscoWorks2000 LAN Management Solution , manages the local-area network (LAN) and features new, web-based applications for advanced management of the award-winning Catalyst multilayer product line. The second, the Routed WAN Management Solution, provides wide-area network (WAN) monitoring, traffic management, and access control list management, as well as, applications to administer the routed infrastructure of a wide range of Multiservice networks built on a Cisco device foundation.
In addition, Cisco offers the User Registration Tool (URT) and CiscoWorks2000 Voice Manager as advanced applications, which complement the CiscoWorks2000 solution bundles.
