Cisco QoS Policy Manager (QPM), is a GUI-based application that enables network administrators to reserve or prioritize bandwidth for critical applications through centralized policy control and automated policy deployment. An integral part of Cisco Content Networking, an intelligent network architecture that dynamically recognizes Internet business applications, QPM provides differentiated services to Web-based applications, voice traffic, Web hosting, and business-critical applications. Centralized policy control-Provides an end-to-end interface to devices that eliminates for need for device-by-device configuring, modifying, and greatly simplifies the deploying QoS for LAN and WAN routing and switching equipment. Differentiated service for application traffic-QPM simplifies configuration of traffic classification, bandwidth reservation, and QoS enforcement policies used to achieve service-level differentiation in Cisco devices. Enhanced application-level classification-Support for the integrated packet inspection engine (NBAR) within Cisco IOS software that extends IP packet classification to include content-based application signaling, Web URLs, and dynamic protocols. Voice QoS Configuration-Rapid configuration of advanced voice QoS features provides absolute priority to voice traffic. Guaranteed network service-Configuration of Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP) signaling for throughput and latency guarantees needed by voice, video, audio and other real-time applications. Policy domain configuration-Intelligent interface grouping allows you to selectively enable QoS mechanisms for LAN or WAN policy domains. Comprehensive QoS feature support-Extensive congestion management, congestion avoidance, and traffic shaping services leveraging QoS features in Cisco IOS software and device mechanisms. Automated policy deployment-Policy validation checking, configuration change previewing, incremental access control list (ACL) updates, and job control facilities ensure controlled and reliable deployment of QoS policies. CiscoWorks2000 integration-Can import device inventory from Resource Manager Essentials reducing setup time for devices targeted for policy enforcement. Web-based reporting-Web-based reports are used to quickly view and analyze QoS policy deployment. Cisco QoS Policy Manager 1.1 for Windows NT
