Introduction

Cisco Media Convergence Servers (MCS) Overview

The Cisco Media Convergence Server (MCS) 7800 series offers a high-availability server platform for Cisco AVVID (Architecture for Voice, Video and Integrated Data). The MCS-7820, MCS-7830 and MCS-7835 deliver the high performance and availability demanded by today`s enterprise networks and represent turnkey solutions that are easy to deploy and highly cost effective.

The Cisco Media Convergence Server 7820 (MCS-7820) is intended to be a low-cost, pilot-test platform as well as a standalone server, or a production-level server when two MCS-7820s are deployed in a primary/backup role. The Cisco Media Convergence Server 7830 (MCS-7830), with Cisco Call Manager software preinstalled, easily enables wide-scale deployment of industry-leading Cisco IP Telephony solutions. At only 3U high, the MCS-7835 packs tremendous power in a low-profile chassis designed to minimize rack-space requirements. The MCS-7835 is engineered to run a variety of Cisco AVVID applications, such as Cisco CallManager and Cisco uOne voice messaging.

The Cisco MCS 7800 series server family is an integral part of a complete, scalable architecture for a new generation of high-quality IP voice solutions that run on the enterprise network.
