There are two configurable memory types on the GRP; Flash (PCMCIA) and DRAM used to hold system software, routing tables, and other data. Default GRP memory is 20 MB PCMCIA Flash, and 64 MB DRAM, expandable to 256 MB.
There are two configurable memory types on each of the Cisco 12000 line cards; packet memory (buffers) and route table memory. Default route table memory is 32 MB and is expandable to 256 MB. Default packet memory can be expanded to 128 MB (64 MB Tx, 64 MB Rx).
