Inverse Multiplexing ATM (IMA) brings ATM service to the reach of smaller offices and remote locations. These port adapters are members of the PA-A3 enhanced ATM port adapter family (see the description for Enhanced ATM DS3/E3, OC3/STM1 port adapters) but provide the additional capability to use IMA technology to group multiple T1 or E1 links together to form a single logical ATM transmission trunk.
