The digital modem network modules significantly enhance the dial access flexibility and scalability of the Cisco 3600 series platform. Each network module supports up to 30 digital modems. The digital modem network modules use either the single or dual PRI network modules to offer support for up to 60 remote modem users (using two network modules), at speeds up to 56 Kbps. K56flex modem technology is currently supported, and future standards will be supported as they become available.

The digital modem network modules are available with 6, 12, 18, 24 or 30 modems per module, and are field-upgradable in six modem increments. Modem management software is also available for network managers who need to centrally monitor modem activity.
